Attractions in Durban

Spend a day at Durban’s uShaka Marine World for nonstop entertainment. This park is host to Wet ‘n Wild, Sea World, the Village Walk, and uShaka Beach. Sea World offers dolphin shows and island activities such as Snorkel Lagoon, the Ocean Walker, and the Shark Cage Experience. Wet ‘n Wild is full of wild water slides and pools. One can experience Africa’s highest slide, the Drop Zone, the Kamikaze Speed Slide, the Zoom Zoom multi-lane racers, or the Mamba tunnel tube ride. The Village Walk is perfect to wind down the day and offers a unique shopping experience with family fun, entertainment, and restaurant dining. uShaka Beach offers families the perfect beach experience by the addition of a grassy bank, giving swimmers the opportunity of a grass or sand experience.

The Durban Botanic Gardens has been around since 1849. Orchids, Palms, and Cycads constitute the majority of the collections in the gardens. It offers a host of scenery including the Lake area where one can see plenty of birdlife, the Garden of Senses, the beautiful floral Sunken Garden, the Fern Dell which offers a viewing deck, and the Tea Garden where one can go to enjoy refreshments and snacks. The visitors Center consists of a gift shop, information office, an education center, a Hall for weddings and exhibitions, and a boardroom. For entertainment, the Botanic Gardens hosts lectures and concerts throughout the year.

Phezulu Safari Park is an exciting adventure which gives one a glimpse of giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest, among others, while on the Game Drive. The Crocodile and Snake Park has guided tours available giving one the chance to meet Junior, the 102 year old Nile crocodile, and Cleo, a Burmese python. Guests also get an opportunity to visit the Phezulu village where they can learn about the Zulu culture and get a chance to see a traditional Zulu dancing show.
